Calcium Chloride is an inorganic compound having the chemical formula of CaCl 2. This white crystalline solid is highly soluble in water. It is prepared by neutralising hydrochloric acid with calcium hydroxide. This is widely used as an additive in blast furnaces, plastics, wastewater treatment plants, etc. for enhancing their processes and properties. In addition, it is also used for lowering the freezing point of water and preventing ice formation on road surfaces.
