Ammonium Sulphate is an inorganic salt contains 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur. This is obtained by the reaction of sulfuric acid having two equivalents of ammonia. This high-melting white solid is soluble in water; hence it is used as a fertilizer for alkaline soils. This is also used as a fertilizer. In addition, this Ammonium Sulfate is also widely used as flame retardant chemicals as it enhances the combustion temperature of the material and decreases the weight loss rates.
